Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 15 series and the iOS 17 update at Wonderlust, its biggest event of the year. After a developer beta since WWDC 2023, the stable version is finally getting ready for release. Here are the new features, release date and models that will receive iOS 17.
What’s new with iOS 17
The iOS 17 update will be available on Monday, September 18. It should be noted that the update will be automatically distributed to supported iPhone models as of this date.
Apple has focused on communication capabilities with the new version. One of the biggest innovations of iOS 17 is the customizable Contact Posters that will appear on the search screen. You can put a contact’s photo or Memoji on this screen, and you can also customize the entire search screen, from font style to color.
NameDrop, an AirDrop-like feature, is another important innovation. With this feature, which will work similarly to AirDrop, you will be able to send a number and information stored in your contacts to a different iPhone or Apple Watch.
It will also be possible to bring two iPhones together with this feature. With SharePlay, you can listen to music, watch movies or play games with another iPhone owner.
